most recently in 2012. 


EMMY Award®

America's premier television award, the annual Emmys® honor excellence in every segment of television programming and production all across the United States.

WJLA-TV of Washington, DC won a 2005 Public Service Emmy® for a series of national television commercials the station produced for the federal Choose to Save PSA campaign. This ongoing public education program is designed to raise awareness about the need to plan and save for long-term personal financial security.


Steve was hired to provide various character voice overs for many of the TV commercials in the series.

World Championships of Performing Arts®


This international talent competition is
held annually in Hollywood and attracts 
hundreds of some of the best undiscovered performing artists from over 40 nations throughout the world.

Steve was s
elected to represent Team
at the 2002 WCOPA event, and
was chosen Grand Champion in the Comedy category.

In addition, he received a gold medal for
performance in the Acting category, placing him in the finals of that division.

Silver Microphone Awards®

The Silver Microphone Award honors the best of local and regional radio commercials throughout the United States. Two spots voiced by Steve have garnered this award.


A 1993 Silver Mic was won for a radio commercial in which Steve provided his spot-on celebrity voice impressions of five U.S. Presidents: Nixon, Carter, Reagan, Bush #1, and Clinton, (plus then-presidential candidate Ross Perot).

That same year, the ad also
won the Best of Show Award 
at the First Annual
Capital District Radio Association


Steve also won a 1996 Silver Mic (in the "Political" Category) for a three-spot radio ad campaign he voiced for an Upstate New York candidate running for a regional office. In the ads, Steve provided voice impersonations of various famous celebrities who "endorsed" the candidate's run.

One of the three ads was also a finalist for the Best Single Political Ad Award in the same category.

Cellular Magazine Creative Challenge Awards

andy-rooney A series of three radio commercials voiced by
Steve won the 1991
Outstanding Radio Campaign Award presented annually by Cellular Marketing Magazine, a national cellular phone industry publication.

The magazine announced the award by stating: "E
x-Cell Communications was the winner for its three very funny radio commercials featuring TV Journalist Andy Rooney."

Actually, the voice that the judges heard in those
funny radio ads was Steve's uncanny celebrity voice impersonation of Rooney, and the magazine printed a correction in its next issue.

The Annual Telly Awards® honor the nation's finest achievements in film and video productions, web commer- cials, as well as local, regional and national TV commercials.

Two TV ads voiced by Steve have won
Telly Awards for his voice over clients.


TV station WJLA of Washington, DC
won a 2006
Telly Award® for a national public service announcement TV commercial which they produced
for the federal government's

The commercial (left), entitled "Child-hood Lessons", was voiced by Steve.

In 1991, New York marketing firm R.T. Blass Inc. won a Telly Award® for a television spot the agency created for the Times Union Newspaper of Albany, NY.

Steve provided the original character voice for the ad's animated cowboy character.

Bank Advertising News Critics' Corner Award
Steve's six-feet-five-inch frame served as the perfect model for this regional print ad campaign for KeyBank, headquartered in Cleveland and serving 31 states.
The 1989 campaign was recognized by Bank Advertising News Magazine, receiving its Critic's Corner Award as the banking industry's
Best Loan Campaign for that year.

Universal Studios/Sound Tracks Studios
National Talent Search
In May of 1988, Steve won the top prize in a national talent contest co-sponsored by Universal Studios of Hollywood and Sound Tracks Record Studios, Inc.
Steve was chosen Overall Winner in the competition's Comedy Category, receiving an all-expenses-paid trip to Hollywood and an
audition with MCA Record Company reps.


The NORI Awards


Sponsored and presented by the Albany Ad Club, 
(A marketing and communications association based in Upstate New York), the NORI Awards annually recognize achievements
in advertising within the New York's Capital Region.

From 1985 through 2012, Steve's voice over and on-camera work were part of various media projects that netted eight NORI Award wins (and many additional nominations) for his clients during those years.
